Reports downloaded from the Instructor Dashboard are by default in CSV format.

*It is not possible to download the report in any other format than CSV.

CSV is a standard file known as "comma separated values" . Once you have downloaded your CSV file, you can ready it using Apple Notes, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or another suitable CSV file reader.

Unfortunately Microsoft does not automatically convert .CSV files into .XLSX, and you must use their Import Text Wizard. This is also outlined and explained in more depth on the Microsoft website here ()

Open your MOOCit CSV Reports in Excel using the Import Text Wizard

Step One:

Download the desired report from the instructor dashboard

Step Two:

Open Microsoft Excel. Select to "Open" and file, and then open the report.

Step Three:

Follow the Text Import Wizard to open the CSV file. Chose "Delimited" in step 1.

Select 'Next'.

In step 2 of the Text Import Wizard, Select "Comma" as the delimiters.

Finally in Step 3 you may simply select "Finish".

Step Four:

Your data has been transformed, now you can work with it in excel. You may want to save a new copy of your document in the .xlsx format.
